Dress: Forever 21 (thrifted but also super old so I can’t find it), Heels: Boden (Similar), Earrings: J.Crew (Similar),

Y’all would not believe how long I’ve had this dress hanging in my closet but I’ve never worn it out at all. I got it at a thrift store, suprise suprise what else is new… Maggie Royce & thrift shopping?? What?? (sarcasm, obviously) But I’ve never had a place to wear it. It didn’t fit quite right this past homecoming and even though now it isn’t a perfect fit I still love it. Plus the material of the dress is super nice with a navy baroque pattern & it’d be hard to tell that it was from Forever21! Something I’m really insecure about is my neck/chin as I’ve been known to have a double chin and that’s a huge fear when wearing a super high neck dress. But suprisingly in pictures it actually doesn’t cut me off forming the double chin and is really comfortable. I was saying to a friend after taking these blog pictures that it’s so interesting that an incredibly high neck “modest” dress would be considered daring/super different opposed to if it had a somewhat low v-neck, just a random thought that popped up while editing.

I paired it with a pair of statement earrings as wearing a necklace with this dress just wouldn’t be right and bracelets were too bulky. Also I wore my classic Boden block heels, really they are a tried and true favorite.

Not only did I wear this outfit to a New Years Day brunch but I’m also wearing it next weekend when I’m teaching cotillion (southern ettiquite) classes for nine hours so it is for sure comfortable!

xoxo
