I had a whole outfit post scheduled to upload today but I was feeling particularly chatty this afternoon so here we are! Junior year is in the home stretch!! We have 9 weeks left in the school year and it’s incredibly weird to know that in such a short time I’ll be a senior. Last week I submitted my course requests for the 2017-18 year, my last time for highschool…. I have a feeling though that there will be a lot more “lasts” in my future (Ah!!!).

Currently listening: Spotify randomly stopped working on my school computer so I’m using YouTube to jam out to Thomas Rhett’s album Tangled Up. We played the song “Star Of The Show” at our cotillion ball Sunday and it was the most fun song to shag dance to. Now it has been on repeat for the past 48 hours and is perfect for blasting in my car with the windows rolled down. Also The Beauty & The Beast song from the upcoming movie makes my inner four year old so excited, can’t wait for the movie! John Legend in it makes my heart melt even more as my parents listened to him (before he became mega popular) when I was little!!

Currently reading: I am doing the She Reads Truth Lent Bible Reading plan and it is by far the best devotional series I’ve ever done! If you don’t know, She Reads Truth is an awesome online community of women who all do internet Bible studies and currently we are studying the book of Isaiah. In my theology class we’ve read a lot of the book of Isaiah from a historical standpoint so getting to read it every morning fills my history nerd heart. The best part about SRT? It isn’t cheesy. At all. I’ve also been reading a lot of articles by Kathleen Parker for school and if you need a sarcastic amazing political read, she’s the best.

Currently baking: Chocolate Chip cookies for a fundraiser this week! They are in the oven as I type and the smell is heavenly. Random sidenote: cookie dough doesn’t taste good anymore now that I’m sugar free. Super sad but in a weird way good!

Currently planning: This month is a planner heavy month…. Student council elections, prom planning, student council meetings,  non-profit work, a whole lot of event planning going on that it is easy to lose track of. Luckily April is going to bring some peace which I’m looking forward to, including my Grandma visiting, spring break, Easter, prom, lots of fun.

Currently smiling: At my school we devote one or two days a year to going into our community and serving others. Every year the Junior class gets to go build houses with Habitat for Humanity and it was by far one of the coolest experiences I’ve been a part of. We built the entire floor of a house starting from bare bones of a foundation. It was such a humbling experience to know that something simple as spending a day glueing and hammering provides a floor where kids could have their first steps or families could make dinner. I was with my best friend Caroline and a whole group of boys so the day was filled with sweaty laughter.

Currently wearing: I have been LIVING in my oversized college sweatshirts. There comes a point in the school year where while I care a lot about feeling presentable, there is nothing like a cozy sweatshirt. I was going to dress all cute yesterday with a fun Lilly dress, but as soon as I walked out to my car in the rain threw on my sweatshirt over my dress and didn’t care. Promise y’all, I love fashion & dressing all adorably but this warm sweatshirt has my heart.

Just a random life update… I totally thought yesterday was Friday. Long week y’all, long week!

xoxo
