What I wore: Dress (majorly on sale) & Heels (Thrifted, similar)

Y’all can yell at me. I know. I know. I haven’t posted in a month. But I pinky promise I am working to be better about blog content. Anyways, this past weekend I had the honor of attending my sweet friend Lara Casey’s book launch. I have followed Lara’s sister brand Southern Weddings for many years (#eventcoprobs) and am always commenting on the entire team’s Instagram’s. Lara was interviewed for my #GirlBoss interview series and I kid you not, she is the most authentic, genuine woman on social media. Earlier this school year I was overwhelmed with a situation in my personal life, emailed her and she sent me a 7-minute audio recording to offer advice. Her wisdom is overwhelming and so positive without being cheesy.

I am so excited to dive into Cultivate (I’m currently rereading her book Make It Happen) after an amazing launch party. It was PICTURE PERFECT. Everywhere you turned there was something Instagram-worthy and inspiring. From the giant flower wreath, take home succulents, gorgeous barn venue, make your own flower cuff, and an Italian ice stand, every detail was gorgeous. On top of all of that: the women (and men) in the room were full of joy and smiles. I hung out with a bunch of blogger friends & easily made new friends. So many smiles and laughs. It is easy, especially as a teen blogger to feel disconnected and surrounded by internet “competition” (one of the reasons I’ve been MIA) but in that room, I was completely reinspired.

If you know me I am passionate about mentoring and intentionality, one of the reasons I am excited to read Cultivate. Lara wrote “Peonies grow through the dirt, and so do we.” which was actually my phone background for most of this school year and is a common theme of her new book. Check it out here & if you missed my interview with Lara, you can read it here.

xoxo,
Maggie
