Last Saturday sweet mom threw me a Black & Gold Brunch and it was amazing in every way possible. I get my love of planning events from her as she plans events for a college in NC State and you can tell she is a professional. We’ve spent the past few months scouring Pinterest and compiling all of our favorite things into a perfect morning. My graduation was Friday night at 7 which meant family from out of town would have to stay over and we wanted to make the most of their time here which is why we opted for a brunch the next morning. An open house brunch allowed for friends from school to stop in amidst the bunch of parties going on while catching up with family and people from outside school. We lucked out that the storms didn’t show up and it was cloudy for only a little bit but became gorgeous and sunny.

I’m bummed I didn’t take a lot of photos but the few I have capture how precious and special it was! One thing my mom and I both knew going into the planning process was that, in typical “us” fashion we wanted it to be classic which surprisingly makes planning easier as it isn’t over the top. My mom combined personal touches (my awards & Senior photos) with Wofford memorabilia and gorgeous pink and white flowers to keep it simple and sweet. Plus it doesn’t hurt that my future college’s colors are two of the simplest & easiest: gold & black. We had a few breakfast dishes and a funfetti pancake bar from one of my favorite local brunch spots which was all eaten and made set up that morning so easy. Not to mention we combined all of my favorite things: bows, breakfast foods & best friends.
