Like I said in this post, Senior year is happening FAST and I cannot believe I’m writing my Senior prom post. Funny story: I actually didn’t want to go to prom this year. I’ve been to every school dance that I could since 6th grade and planned every highschool dance (homecoming + prom) for the past three years that at this point I was just over it. But my best friend Caroline, (she’s a staple here on the blog) who is the most introverted and least girly person I know, convinced me to go. I ended up going with my good guy friend Chris, coincidentally Shannon’s (a close friend who I met through blogging) little brother. His best friends went with my best friends so it all ended up being a really relaxed fun group. Afterward, we had a firepit at my house & stayed up way too late making vine references.
I am not a “prom dress” kinda gal, while I love sparkle and twirly dresses I just am not a fan of most prom dresses which makes dress shopping difficult. In typical Maggie Royce fashion, I found this dress at a consignment shop after a full day of hitting every consignment in the area. I’d actually pinned it on Pinterest a few years back but because it was a designer gown I didn’t think it’d end up in my closet, but for very good consignment prices, let’s just say it was DEFINITELY possible. It fit perfectly and just happened to be all of my favorite things: navy & white stripes, shimmery and comfy while still being able to twirl in it. I paired it with hot pink drop earrings, (of course) my favorite pink lipstick, glittery makeup, and navy clutch.
Thumbs up for prom!!
My best friend Caroline & I!
As a part of my independent study, I have been doing video projects all year & decided to make prom week into a short project! I’m so glad I did, even though I didn’t capture every moment I’m grateful for the litte bit of silliness.
